Coaching with a Psychologist:

  There are hundreds of life coaches to choose from. Picking Pamela, a psychologist, to be your life coach has advantages;

She can understand you and your issues pretty quickly. She has over thirty years experience assessing people.
She knows the difference between coaching and psychotherapy.
She knows how to build a coaching program. Her gift is seeing how it comes together and planning and implementing coaching programs.
She is open, frank, and direct so that you will be able to leave the first meeting knowing the direction she would coach you in. You won’t have to guess.
Once you start, she will guide you on the sometimes heroic and difficult, but also exciting journey of changing yourself.

Personal Coaching vs. Therapy:

Professional & Personal Coaching is different than therapy although some skills and techniques are common to both. The most significant difference is that Coaching focuses on you accomplishing the goals that you bring to Coaching and the goals that you learn in Coaching.

To be where you are today you have had to be successful to some degree. Whether your journey up to now has been pleasant or tough, you have developed significant resources to have brought you to this point. You enter into the Coaching relationship as a competent, functional person who wants to experience some form of change, development or improvement. You may be required to learn some new skills, approaches, attitudes and behaviors, as well as calling on your existing resources, some of which you may have forgotten or disconnected from.. When the Coach gets down to work in your sessions, she is most interested in Coaching You in the actual skills that will help you achieve your goals and create a more solid foundation for the next part of your life.

Professional and Personal Coaching never offers mental, emotional or psychological diagnosis or treatment. Professional and Personal Coaching provides instruction, guidance, support and education in skills to help you change your life.

Pamela can work with you as a Personal Coach to:

add new perspectives
move you to new activities
show you new possibilities
expand ways of doing customary things
open new horizons
expanding creativity
provide regular scheduled coaching support
teach you to self-correct and change what you want to change
teach you to enjoy the process of change

Please contact Pamela to either arrange and appointment or to discuss any queries you may have. Pamela@pamelawade.com

Clinical Supervision:

As many professionals will attest, there is no ‘one’ theoretical approach that suits all problems, issues or concerns. Each approach has its own applications and limitations, and it behoves us as professionals to acknowledge those limitations and expand our skills repertoire so that we can best support out clients. None of my work is pathology driven. I always look towards the skills and abilities that the clients brings with them, (despite their trauma and pain), and to acknowledge the potential that their situation offers for constructive growth and change.

SOLUTION-ORIENTED COUNSELLING:

Solution-Oriented Counselling asks the simple question: What Do You Want? The objective is not to analyse why the problem exists, or what went wrong, but to give you the tools and methods—the HOW—to arrive at your solution. Solution-oriented counselling focuses on your strengths and problem-solving skills and helps you neutralize the negative influences of the past, get beyond your unconscious blocks, marshal your inner resources, develop positive expectations, and change your emotions, inner dialog, and behavior. Because solution-oriented counselling uses state-of-the art Hypnotherapy and NLP (engaging both conscious and subconscious processes), you can expect lasting results in 3 to 12 sessions. Motivational Strategies offers solution-oriented counselling and brief psychotherapy for these types of problems:
